This privacy policy covers the Claude Groupchats Chrome extension ("the extension"), an independent, third-party project built by Praharsha. It is not made, endorsed, or supported by Anthropic. "Claude" refers to Anthropic's AI assistant at claude.ai, which this extension interacts with as a browser extension only — it has no relationship with Anthropic's servers or infrastructure.

What the extension does

Claude Groupchats lets a claude.ai user share their live conversation with invited collaborators. The session owner installs the extension and shares a link or QR code; invited participants open that link in a browser (no install required) and can read the live conversation and send messages that appear in the owner's Claude session. Responses mirror back to everyone in the session in real time.

What data is processed

To make a shared session work, the following data passes through the extension's backend relay server (hosted on Cloudflare Workers, operated solely by the developer of this extension):

• Conversation content — the prompts and Claude's responses within a session that is actively being shared, for the duration that session is shared.
• A session token — derived from the claude.ai conversation's own ID, used only to route messages to the correct shared session (its own isolated "room").
• Basic connection metadata (e.g., WebSocket connection status) needed to keep a shared session synced and reconnect automatically if the connection drops.

The extension does not collect account credentials, payment information, browsing history outside claude.ai, or any data from tabs other than claude.ai.

How this data is used

Data is used exclusively to operate the shared-session feature: relaying messages between the session owner and invited participants, and keeping a rejoinable history for that specific session so participants can reconnect and see what they missed. It is not used for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to running the shared session.

Storage and retention

Conversation data for a shared session is stored server-side (in a Cloudflare Durable Object scoped to that specific session) only for as long as needed to support that session, including reconnects and re-shares of the same link. It is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties, and it is not used to train any AI model.

Third parties

The only infrastructure involved is Cloudflare, which hosts the relay server that makes real-time syncing possible. Cloudflare processes this data solely to run the extension's own service, under Cloudflare's own infrastructure-provider terms — it is not given access to the data for its own purposes.

Your choices

If you are the session owner, you control who receives the share link or QR code, and you can stop sharing at any time by closing the session. If you are an invited participant, you can leave at any time by closing the tab; no account or persistent profile is created for you.

Children's privacy

This extension is not directed at children and is not knowingly used to collect data from children.
